Ai Ikeda is a Japanese artist living in Montreal, Canada. She is an MFA candidate in the Studio Arts at Concordia University. She earned a BFA from the Kanazawa College of Art, Japan and stayed in Margate, U.K., and Berlin, Germany to immerse herself in art.
This old website shows her paintings and drawings which were produced from 2001 to 2010. The purpose of these artworks was to express her vision about Japanese nature and culture. She aspired to grasp the vital connection between human beings and its natural environments. As a Japanese living in a global world, this art was dedicated to reach harmony with nature, as well as to fill the gap between the traditional and the modern, the local and the global.
