Ai Ikeda is a Japanese artist living in Montreal, Canada. This website shows her works of the last 15 years. She studied art in the Kanazawa College of Art in Japan. She also studied and lived for a while in Margate, U.K., and Berlin, Germany.
The purpose of her art is to express her vision about Japanese nature and culture. With her artworks, she seeks to grasp the vital connection between human beings and its natural environments. As a Japanese living currently in a global world, her art is dedicated to reach harmony with nature, as well as to fill the gap between the traditional and the modern, the local and the global.
